3. GLOMIS Faculty

Sang-Wook Kim (김상욱)
Sang-Wook Kim is full professor for Management Information Systems at Chungbuk National University. He earned his MA and Ph.D degrees in Business Administration (majoring in Management Information Systems) at the University of Nebraska –Lincoln (UNL) in the United States. He had been on the tenure-track faculty of Management Department, Kansas State University for almost three years before he came back to Korea in 1989. Dr. KIM served as Director of Research Institute of Industry & Management, and Director of University Computer Center, and Dean of School of Business Administration, Chungbuk National University. For 2003 to 2007 he served as a member of Presidential Committee on Government Innovation and Decentralization and a member of Korea e-Government Expert Advisory Board for the President. He teaches system dynamics simulation with an emphasis on management information systems. His research interests include Group Intelligence, Knowledge Management, Organization Process Management, IT/IS Service Quality Assurance, and System Dynamics.

Tae-Sung KIM (김태성)
Tae-Sung Kim is a professor at the Department of Management Information Systems at Chungbuk National University. He received his bachelor, master, and doctoral degrees in Management Science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He worked for Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) as a Senior Researcher for more than three years. Also, he worked as a visiting professor at the Department of Business Information System and Operation Management, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a visiting research scholar at the School of Computing, Informatics and Decision Systems Engineering, Arizona State University. His research areas include management and policy issues in telecommunications and information security. His recent research papers have appeared in international journals, such as European Journal of Operational Research, ETRI Journal, Journal of the Operations Research Society, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, Operations Research Letters, and Stochastic Analysis and Applications.

Sang-Hyun Choi (최상현)
Sang-Hyun Choi is full professor for Management Information Systems at Chungbuk National University. He got a Ph.D degree in Management Information Systems at Graduate School of Management of KAIST. He earned his MA degree in Engineering (majoring in Industrial Engineering) at the KAIST in Daejon, Korea. He had been an associate professor of Industrial Engineering Systems Department, Gyeongsang National University in Jinju, Korea. Dr. Choi served as Senior Consultant at LG CNS for five years. He teaches data analysis and decision making, Datamining, Business Process Management at MIS Department. His research interests include Data Mining, Decision Support Systems, Busimess Process Management, and Process Mining.

Dong-Back Seo (서동백)
Dong-Back Seo earned her Doctor of Philosophy and Masters of Science in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to pursuing the Ph.D. program, she worked as a software engineer in a wireless communications firm in the Silicon Valley and as a small business owner. Her publications include three books, recently published Evolution and Standardization of Mobile Communications Technology, as well as a class manual and several chapters. Her papers appear in many journals (Communications of the ACM, European Journal of Information Systems, Telecommunications Policy, etc.) and conference proceedings (International Conference on Information Systems, European Conference on Information Systems, etc.). Her research interests include the areas of adoption of IT/IS-enabled services from the perspectives of individuals and organizations, organizational standards strategy, business convergence, mobile commerce, and analysis of competitive dynamics in rapidly changing industries
